HERBICIDE DRIFT

Most tree species do not grow well in competition with grasses, and are also highly susceptible to contact with herbicide. The Plant Pink Tree Guard™ and weed mat provide ideal protection for young seedlings when herbicide is being used.

WIND PROTECTION

Strong wind can cause severe dehydration of young seedlings and can result in high losses. The Plant Pink Tree Guard™ provides ideal protection from strong winds in this early stage of growth and also creates an environment of increased humidity and sun protection.

PREDATION

Hares, rabbits and wallabies can cause high losses and damage to young seedlings. The Plant Pink Tree Guard™ with its high walls and robust structure provides excellent protection.

ADVERSE CONDITIONS

This tree guard will insulate seedlings from sand blasting and frost, and also elevate humidity and concentrate carbon dioxide levels for improved growth.

Sizes

200 mm x 200 mm x 500 mm (stake/mat not included – need one 23 mm x 13 mm x 900 mm stake and a 330 mm x 330 mm weed mat) – Suitable for quick growing pioneer species e.g wattles, casuarinas and eucalyptus.
250 mm x 250 mm x 680 mm (stake/mat not included – need one 23 mm x 13 mm x 1000 mm stake but also has the provision for a extra 23 mm x 13 mm x 1000 mm stake if required and a 330 mm x 330 mm weed mat) – Suitable for quick growing pioneer species e.g wattles, casuarinas and eucalyptus. This guard is the same as the 200 mm x 200 mm x 500 mm guard but with extra height to protect against predation.
300 mm x 300 mm x 550 mm (stake/mat not included – need one 23 mm x 13 mm x 900 mm stake and a 330 mm x 330 mm weed mat) – Suitable for rainforest species, exotics and other slower growing species that require more room to expand.
400 mm x 400 mm x 750 mm (stakes/mat not included – need two 23 mm x 13 mm x 1000 mm stakes and a 480 mm x 480 mm weed mat) – Suitable for rainforest species, exotics and other slower growing species that require more room to expand. This guard offers extra protection against predation when compared to the 300 mm x 300 mm x 550 mm guard.
550 mm x 550 mm x 900 mm (stakes/mat not included – need three 22 mm x 22 mm x 1500 mm stakes stakes and a 650 mm x 650 mm weed mat) – Suitable for orchard trees and advanced trees. This guard provides the ultimate protection against predation.
550 mm x 550 mm x 1350 mm which is created from one and a half 550 mm x 550 mm x 900 mm guards (stakes/mat not included – need three 22 mm x 22 mm x 1800 mm stakes stakes and a 650 mm x 650 mm weed mat) – Suitable for orchard trees and advanced trees. This guard provides the ultimate protection against predation.

Why Pink?

Visible light can be split into a spectrum of colours. Green leaves absorb light from the red fraction to drive photosynthesis. Research has demonstrated that the colour pink reflects and focuses the red fraction, concentrating this photosynthetic energy to enhance plant growth. (Other colours are available on request)
